Scholarly Pride

Thomas Browne (1605-1682), Religio Medici, II.8:
I have seene a Grammarian toure, and plume himselfe over a single line in Horace, and shew more pride in the construction of one Ode, than the Author in the composure of the whole booke.
toure = tower
